Professional Biography
Samson Olagoke OLADOYE is a doctoral researcher in Public Health Nutrition at Babcock University, Nigeria whose research investigates the effect of breakfast consumption on teachers’ work performance, and health-related quality of life, contributing to the growing evidence on nutrition and productivity in low- and middle-income settings.
He served previously as a short-term research consultant supporting principal investigators and development partners including Malaria Consortium across several states in Nigeria. His experience spans implementation research, monitoring and evaluation, and field-based public health interventions.
He holds a Master of Public Health degree with Distinction from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a Bachelor’s degree with honours in Zoology from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. During his undergraduate training at OAU, he was awarded the 2012 ASEF Scholarship as an outstanding biological science student in Nigeria. He is also a 2015 AfriAspire fellow.
Oladoye's early professional experience as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in a public health-focused non-profit organization strengthened his interest in translating research into practice. This led him to establish a social enterprise in 2016 at the intersection of health and agriculture, aimed at promoting sustainable food systems and improved nutrition outcomes.
His additional professional development experiences include participation in the 2019 Israel–Nigeria Agrinnovation Summit (sponsored by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Nigeria), the SickKids Public Health Nutrition Course (SPHNC) by Nestlé Nutrition with participation in local and international academic conferences.
Currently a Lecturer II in the Department of Public Health at Kings University where he also serves as the Coordinator of the Public Health Programme.
