Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences

It is my honour and pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences (FHMSS) at Kings University. The Faculty is one of the two (2) pioneer faculties established at the inception of Kings University in 2015. Since then, lofty goals were set to achieve and maintain very high academic standard in the various Departments. As a community of scholars, we are committed to foster a culture of excellence, integrity and service.

The Faculty offers and awards degrees in a wide a range of academic programmes such as Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Criminology and Security Studies, Economics, English, International Relations and Mass Communication. Our programmes are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities that they need to succeed in their chosen careers in the contemporary highly competitive and ever-changing world. All our programmes earned FULL ACCREDITATION from the National Universities Commission.

Academic activities at Kings University are deeply rooted in the Motto of the university, which is “Raising Leaders, Transforming Minds”. Learning activities have been seamless and excellent with quality academics who are committed to producing the manpower (graduates) with broad knowledge and competencies that are suited to solving the local and globally intractable problems of the 21st century world. With commitment to keep to the Motto of the university, we understand the need for value-based leadership development, and the need to send a clear and strong message to our students, staff, and broader society on our vital role as a leader in higher education. While we have made significant strides in developing strategies to best serve our students, faculty, and staff, we will continue to seek ways to support our students through programme initiatives, mentorship, and community building while partnering with other stakeholders to attract and retain students of diverse backgrounds.
