Overview
The Department runs the B.Sc. Entrepreneurship programme and operates an academic curriculum that is tailored along the National Universities Commission (NUC) Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS). Apart from this, other Departments in the Faculty have some of their courses domiciled in the Department of Business and Entrepreneurial studies. It, therefore, has a major role in the transformation of Students into Resourceful Technocrats, experts, thinkers, solution providers and innovative scientists which are parts of the mission of the University.
Philosophy
The underlying philosophy of the Department of Business and Entrepreneurial studies is the development of innovative and creative minds that are well groomed for leadership responsibilities in industry, government and not-for-profit organizations. It aims at producing graduates that will exploit opportunities, establish new ventures, reinvent/add social and economic values to existing organisations.Â

Objective
- Prepare students for careers in the public and private sectors;
- Teach students the requisite skills needed for creating viable enterprises, growing existing ones which are capable of competing in today’s highly competitive globalised markets for the attainment of economic growth and development of society;
- Provide training in the principles and practice of management and the appropriate application to business in our dynamic environment;
- Stimulate students intellectually through the study of Business Administration and to lead them to appreciate its application to a range of problems and its relevance in a variety of contexts;
- Develop in students the ability to apply the analytical tools, knowledge and skills acquired to solve the societies’ management problems;
- Develop in students, a range of transferable skills that will be of value in employment; and
- Provide students with the knowledge and skill base, from which they can proceed for further studies in management related areas or in multi-disciplinary areas that involve management.

Admission Requirements
O'Level Requirements: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Arts or Social Science subjects.
UTME Subjects: English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography, Literature in English, French and Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies.
Direct Entry: Minimum of 5 points in GCE A’ level, IJMB/JUPEB or Merit in two (2) in two core subjects in NCE or Upper Credit in ND/HND certificate from recognized institution.
