“You must begin to hold your head high and be recognized for your commitment to excellence” Kings University VC tells matriculating students.
The Vice-Chancellor of Kings University Odeomu, Professor Adenike Kuku, has encouraged the matriculants to shun every form of misconduct as Kings University is known for having a zero-tolerance policy to social vices.
She gave this charge at the just-concluded 9th Matriculation Ceremony, which took place on Friday, 22nd March 2024, at the University Lecture Theatre.
The Vice Chancellor admonished the students to be good ambassadors of Kings University everywhere they go, as they have become full-fledged students of the institution.
Professor Kuku also encouraged the students to demonstrate a high sense of morality while in school and after they leave Kings University in four to five years to come.
She said the university as a student-centric institution will continue to focus on nurturing the growth and development of all students in all facets of life.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the Chancellor of the University, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, for his relentless support and benevolence. She also thanked the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Pastor Dipo Oluyomi and the National Superintendent, KICC Nigeria, Pastor Femi Faseru for their kind gestures towards the University. She also solicited the support of parents, guardians and students to join hands with the Management in making Kings University a university recognised globally.
The Registrar of the University, Ms. Temitayo Olowola administered the Matriculation Oath to the students admitted into the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
The 8th annual Lecture, which was delivered by Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, was centred on character formation and quality education: panacea for success and sustainable wealth creation.
Professor Adeoluwa, the Vice-Chancellor, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, charged the students to develop themselves all round and to pursue their passion rather than looking for quick money.
