Today marks a remarkable day in the history of this young University that is barely four years old.
How many four-year-olds can claim they are of age? But Kings University can proudly say that we have completed a full circle and have truly come of age.
I give gratitude to God for making this day a reality and for putting into the hearts of the proprietors the vision of this institution.
On behalf of the Chancellor, Senior Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the Board of Trustees, the Governing Council, the Senate, Management, staff and students of the University, we heartily welcome all our distinguished guests to the maiden Convocation ceremony of Kings University, Odeomu and congratulate the Genesis class of graduating students for making history.
From this point on, Kings University is poised to take its rightful place in the comity of tertiary educational institutions in our great country Nigeria. I wish to place on record the commitment of the foundation members of management and staff who inspite of teething challenges ensured that all the ten programmes currently being run by the University received NUC accreditation. Together you have moved this University on the path of excellence leading to our gathering here today to celebrate our vision.
Let me now welcome our Royal Fathers in a very special way. The location of Kings University in Odeomu in Osun State was not an accident. It was the realisation of a vision of impacting a community and transforming the citizenry educationally, socially and economically. While thanking the community for accepting this edifice, we pray and hope for a mutually beneficial relationship.
Finally, I welcome and thank everyone here for setting aside all other commitments to be here today to celebrate with us. I rejoice with the graduands, their parents, guardians, friends and well-wishers and wish each and everyone of you present here today God’s protection as you journey back home.
Pastor (Dr) Dipo Oluyomi
